Last May (May 2022), a few weeks after the massive amount of snow had melted and caused floodings, the North Canadian forests suddenly caught on fire. Wildfires appeared all the way from Alberta to Quebec, thousands of kilometers burned away. At the time, Native American tribes were told to leave everything behind, including their lands, and were relocated into urban areas. Some wildfires were left to burn voluntarily by the government, because of lack of staff, which was needed to focus on protecting key government and social infrastructures. The Natives strongly suspected that elements of the government itself were behind the wildfires, because the lands they were expelled from so happened to be rich in minerals such as lithium, uranium, etc. and were coveted by government's mining industries partners. Many tribes called for an independent investigation.
For the rest of the year that followed, government-sponsored newspapers then blamed the wildfires on Global Warming. Climate policies were introduced, asian industries increased their mining operations in Quebec, european Northvolt was invited to make batteries.
Fast-forward to January 25, 2023. Federal PM Justin Trudeau and his associate Quebec's PM Francois Legault are in political trouble. Trudeau was just found guilty, by the Federal Court, of violations of the Constitution. The government had used the Emergency Act to squash the Truckers' protests, those pesky "conspiracy theorists" as Trudeau and Legault called them, and seize the properties and financial accounts of the protesters (some of them war veterans) and imprison them.
Now, on Jan 27, two days later, the Empire strikes back. Government-sponsored newspapers aren't done yet. Those wildfires last year? According to the newspaper, a single lunatic set the wilderness on fire (it's no longer Global Warming), and he did so because he's a "conspiracy theorist".
So let me get this straight, Sir Canadian Government sir. When you implied that wildfires were caused by Global Warming, this means you did so even though you actually had zero evidence in the matter? Or did you just do so through pure ignorance? In both cases, given you've mislead millions of your citizens into believing the cause was Global Warming and to advance your own policies, wouldn't that qualify as massive misinformation?
Also, you don't like "conspiracy theorists", that's becoming clear. Not only did you seize everything they had and locked them up the first chance you had, now you're going a step further. According to you, a single "conspiracy theorist" made Quebec burn. Do you realize how large Quebec is, and how many hundred wildfires there were?
Do you mean to say that this single person woke up one day and decided to just walk in the Quebec wilderness, where there are no roads by the way, his feet getting caught in the flooded mud, stumbling through the rotting trees and the broken branches, with thousands and thousands of gallons of gasoline strapped to his back, metric tons of energy bars in his pockets, hoping not to be found by any of the wolves or bears, squatting down among the mosquitoes, and painstakingly lighting all those wildfires hotspots... across hundreds of kilometers? In fact, as the wildfires started in Alberta, I'm guessing he walked just a "few" hundred kilometers more (again, no roads to get there), and lit those up, too?
And what's the motive? All that to what? Assist the Canadian government in voluntarily giving "conspiracy theorists" a bad reputation? And why is this news suddenly coming out now, just right after Trudeau was convicted of constitutional rights violations against the "conspiracy theorists"?
What we are experiencing is not the result of a wise government. We are experiencing the results of a government that constantly lives in fear of his own people, silences those that try to reason with him, and uses them as scapegoats. We are experiencing the government's unhealthy obsession with private investigators, public inquiries and citizen rights advocates, all of which he brands "conspiracy theorists". This news release is part of a new effort to portray all these "conspiracy theorists" as big, bad dragons that are now setting "entire countries ablaze" and "destroying everything". It feels like an effort to once again seed division and convince society that it'll never know peace unless all of these people, these "monsters" that dare disagree with the government, get hunted down and locked up.
To me this only proves how puerile the minds of some "leaders" are.
