Dear Nations, Citizens and People of The Federation of Pangaea,
I am writing this message to see how you would all feel about a welfare programme for the nations of FoP.
This programme could also act as an internal foreign aid programme allowing nations in crisis to get better or higher priority access to resources such as food, water and materials. This programme could also be implemented if and when we start our seasteading mission as well as begin our colonisation of Antarctica as a means to carefully ration and maintain resources that will be scarce or hard to get due to logistics and likelihood of the first several years being highly dependent on outside forces and nations for foid and building supplies.
Substances not deemed as essentials or extra on top of basic rations should be purchasable with whatever currency is settled upon in shops run by FoP members or in an extreme case run by the FoP itself as a secondary means of securing income to go towards the funding for FoP.
Currently, I believe water, good quality and balanced food, essential medicines (for example Insulin or anti-depressants for those with diabetes or depression), clothes and sources of entertainment as well as tools for workers (hoes, Hammers, spades etc) are essential with spares or luxury products being purchasable (such as alcohol or extra confectionery).
Medicines should be given for free to those in need of them via licensed professionals, this is due to the fact that medicines could be in short supply depending on logistics of trade and receiving more goods, they must also be accessible to everyone so this seems like the most reasonable solution.
Any person is free to refuse this aid and can instead purchase everything or only receive certain part of the aid.
I would appreciate any thoughts, ideas, feedback or comments to any of these ideas and points.
